Dancoo is the first soundproof office pod manufacturer in the global industry to obtain the Excellent Quiet Premium Performance Mark from SGS.

SGS is the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company, Dancoo is the first soundproof office pod manufacturer in the global industry to obtain the Excellent Quiet Premium Performance Mark certification from SGS.

The increasing demand for open-plan offices globally has underscored the need for soundproof pods that can reduce speech noise and provide sound privacy. Since 2016, the number of manufacturers producing soundproof pods has grown rapidly, yet there has been a lack of standardized methods to test their effectiveness in reduction of speech level, resulting in a lack of technical language for objective comparisons among users worldwide.

In July 2020, a new international standard ISO 23351-1, Acoustic-Measurement of speech level reduction of furniture ensembles and enclosures was introduced to describe a method to determine the speech level reduction DS,A of acoustically designed furniture ensembles and enclosures which including soundproof office pod,The key feature of this standard is the use of a single data evaluation metric – the speech level reduction, DS,A, which describes the reduction in A-weighted speech level reduction in decibels compared to the situation without the soundproof pod.

SGS combined the speech level reduction DS,A test from ISO 23351-1, with the traditional international standard ASTM E596-96 for noise isolation class, This has led to the establishment of the Excellent Quiet Performance Mark , a more comprehensive testing system that goes beyond DS,A alone. It comprehensively evaluates the performance of soundproof pods in terms of their ability to attenuate speech level, isolate noise, while maintaining user comfort and speech intelligibility in interactive scenarios.

The SGS Performance Premium mark is an assessment of the product's comprehensive performance dimensions. SGS is required to inspect the factory of the manufacturer to ensure the consistency and standardization of production quality. The assessment includes performance testing, document inspection, and factory inspection.
