In 2005, Mr. Peter Krogh from Copenhagen, Denmark, and Mr. Zhu Weiwei from China jointly established a factory in Kunshan, near Shanghai, to manufacture partition wall systems for sound privacy protection in open-plan offices. After more than a decade of operation, this factory has provided partition wall systems for sound privacy protection in offices to numerous renowned companies worldwide, accumulating rich experience in this field.

In 2015, they began to realize that partition wall systems for sound privacy protection in open offices were being replaced by miniaturized office soundproof spaces. They started preparing for the design rights and acoustic technologies required for producing these miniaturized enclosed soundproof spaces, and thus, the story of Dancoo began.

They had to ensure that their products met the industry's highest sound insulation standards.

Dancoo's journey began with in-depth acoustic technology research on enclosed soundproof spaces within offices, or soundproof office pods. To achieve this, they built a high-standard reverberation chamber that complies with international standards within the factory. This chamber is an irregular-sided reinforced concrete cube with dimensions ranging from 5.5 meters to 7.2 meters on each side and a thickness of 25cm, weighing nearly 170 tons. It is placed on 24 spring vibration isolates, isolating noise and vibration from the surrounding environment.

In this reverberation chamber, through hundreds of acoustic tests on soundproof pods, they accumulated vast amounts of data, giving them the opportunity to truly understand the acoustic secrets within soundproof pods and become true experts in this industry. This was just the first step in fundamentally ensuring that Dancoo's soundproof pods could meet the industry's highest sound insulation requirements.

After several years of unremitting efforts, Dancoo became the only company among all soundproof pod manufacturers worldwide that could conduct Speech Level Reduction (DS,A) tests and ratings, as well as Noise Insulation Class (NIC) tests, on every soundproof pod produced, according to the industry's testing standards, ISO 23351-1 and ASTM E596. This ensures that every pod leaving the factory meets the highest acoustic requirements.

Dancoo's capabilities were also recognized by SGS, a leading global company in inspection, verification, testing, and certification. Combining the latest international standard ISO 23351-1's Speech Level Reduction (DS,A) test with the traditional international standard ASTM E596-96's Noise Insulation Class (NIC) test, SGS established a more comprehensive Performance Mark which comprehensively evaluates the soundproof pod's ability to achieve both Speech Level Reduction and Noise Insulation Class while maintaining user comfort and speech intelligibility in interactive scenarios. With its outstanding acoustic performance, Dancoo obtained the world's first "Excellent Quiet" Premium Performance Mark certification from SGS.

Following the "KIS" principle, they made their pods the “simplest” in the industry.

In 2015, when they realized that partition wall systems for sound privacy protection in open-plan offices were being replaced by miniaturized office soundproof spaces, based on their years of experience in the sound privacy protection industry for open office spaces, they understood that miniaturized enclosed soundproof spaces would become increasingly popular, with more diverse and complex designs and shapes. At the same time, drawing from their experience in designing sound privacy protection products with Danish roots, they have always adhered to the KIS design principle, which stands for "Keep It Simple." Therefore, from the very beginning, they made every effort to reduce any unnecessary lines on the exterior of the soundproof pods, avoiding complex and redundant design elements and appearances, ensuring that the pods do not visually interfere with the office space, seamlessly blend into the office environment, and virtually disappear from the designer's view, inspiring even more creative office space designs.

Since 2016, Dancoo has been committed to reserving the design rights of the simplest soundproof pods. Today, Dancoo may be the company with the most registered design rights for the "simplest" styling in the global office soundproof pod industry, laying a solid foundation for its future development in this field.

However, Framery challenged certain registered design rights of Dancoo and filed an invalidation lawsuit against three of Dancoo's EU design rights with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in 2019. After two years of intense legal battles, Dancoo successfully defended against Framery's challenges with its solid design right foundation. These victories fully validated the legitimacy and innovation of Dancoo's design rights, further enhancing its brand influence in the global market.

It is worth noting that in the subsequent designs of Framery One and its series of products, compared to the original Framery O, more lines appeared on the facade. This marked a milestone for Dancoo's development in the field of simpler designed soundproof office pods. Based on these simplest design rights, Dancoo developed the DANCOO DAWN and DANCOO S products, each perfectly embodying the essence of the "KIS" design principle.

They foresaw a broader horizon and found their mission.

On the one hand, open offices are constantly subjected to distractions—unexpected phone calls, random discussions, and ad-hoc meetings. Once attention is disrupted, it becomes difficult to regain—re-focusing requires time. You become less productive, less creative and your potential is not fulfilled.

To address these issues, their peers have already achieved remarkable success in this field.

They have a keener insight: our working methods are rapidly evolving. In an open office environment, to enhance your efficiency and potential, it is necessary to use soundproof pods to reduce the impact of constant noise interference and continuously improve the efficiency of these pods. However, it is completely unnecessary to exchange customers' information privacy regarding the usage data of soundproof pods with suppliers in order to obtain higher usage efficiency. Noise reduction is only part of the solution and can only meet the requirements of sound privacy processing. However, the ideal handling of visual privacy and information privacy in the usage data of soundproof pods in open offices will provide broader market prospects for unleashing personal potential, creativity, and vitality in open office spaces.

We are highly attentive to research and invest in it, committed to bringing our concept-driven products to the world. In our noisy and complex world, quiet and simple is rare and appreciated, quiet and simple is closer to truth. We are determined to continue providing tools and solutions for ideal office spaces, offering better solutions for sound privacy, visual privacy, and information privacy.
